We love the features of this gorgeous hotel. The owner was super helpful and friendly. We were very pleased with our room amenities and the pool/spa area. Breakfast is a basic, but nourishing bonus!

The property is average and near a shady side of town. I would of given the property a better review if they would of given me an extra 15-20 minutes to check out but they wanted to charge an extra $70 for the two rooms. If I would received the extra 15-20 minutes I would of considered that good service but they get average at best. There is also only a bar of soap for hygiene. No shampoo or conditioner like most above average lodges. Check in is easy though.

Lovely bfast at the pool area; helpful staff. Interesting and comfortable accommodations, although our room was on an air shaft. Area is dead at night and we were told to take a taxi anywhere. Cafe Rojo down the street great Vietnamese. Only uber eats if you arrive after 8:30.

A little sketch from the street, but gorgeous inside. Beautiful grounds and a really cool swimming pool plus whirlpool. Ample parking. Within walking distance of everything you want to see in downtown San Jose. Free tasty breakfast, which catered well for a gluten free person like myself. Met the owner, Thomas an xpat from the USA who was very helpful and genuine. A real delight!

This property has light bright spacious rooms perfect for couples and solo travellers. Located in the middle of every place worth seeing in San Jose by foot. Good value too. Will be returning there before I leave Costa rica

This part of San Jose is now considered unsafe and is rather desolate looking. The owner is a sweetheart and very helpful. The room was rudimentary, not all that clean and ran out of hot water for the second morning shower (we were two of us). Breakfast is good, the pool area and the pool itself are pretty. What makes this place is the owner.

Such a beautiful property - truly a hidden gem in the historic district. Reminded me so much of New Orleans. All the rooms are different and unique with such beautiful furniture and decor. The floor tile and ceilings are stunning. Staff and owner are very accomodating and gracious. I will definitely stay here again.

Santo Tomas Hotel is an OASIS in the city and is beautiful and well-kept and the staff is so kind! The city around is walkable with many small shops in every direction. The parks downtown are lovely and have beautiful flowers and San Jose is filled with public art.

The property & amenities are wonderful. I have stayed at several hotels in San Jose and Santo Tomas is by far my favorite. I will be returning here each time I visit San Jose in the future. The rooms were well maintained and very clean. The complimentary breakfast was delicious, and I thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub and pool. But by far the best part of Santo Tomas is the staff! All staff members were exceptionally kind and responsive. Special thanks to Jeremy and the hotel’s owner, Thomas, for being so attentive and helpful. I would highly recommend a stay at Santo Tomas!
