"There were 2 of us staying in a room which had a double bed and a single bed. Only the double bed was made up. I was staying with my daughter and we hadn't planned on sharing a bed but this is what we ended up doing. We didn't request the other bed to be made up as we were going out around an hour after we checked in and we didn't want anybody in the room while we weren't there. "Great place to stay but my room was freezing, we arrived after 6 , i think the rooms could have been warmed up before hand, so not a good start. The staff are very friendly and as a pensioner and no lift i was offered a down stairs room. The pub opposite was very handy for an evening meal and drinks. On the whole a good, clean, family place to stay, but please warm your rooms while it’s so cold. Myself and my family thought it was good value."

The Pumping Station. The main feature in this OS gridsquare, besides the nicely-named Dark Lane (which adjoins nondescript farmland), is a pumping station. Geographing has made me very nosey. I just had to walk down the hill to find it's owned by Transco and "transports non-odourised natural gas". Wahay!
