"It's a truly unique location... being cut off by the tide twice a day on your own island. It's stunning. The attention to Art Deco is remarkable. It was spotlessly clean. The service is relaxed not over the top. The food was really good, not superb and perhaps not quite worth the price, but I get that you're paying for the location as much as anything. Love that the rooms don't have TVs to be authentic to the period. It's fun having the 4x4 transfer over the beach or the sea tractor...

The island's owners, who also run the exclusive Burgh Island Hotel and the Pilchard Inn, permit access via a footpath across the summit to this side of the island; relatively few people make it beyond the Pilchard Inn, however! Bolt Tail can be seen in the distance.
