"Least expensive room I could find in Zihuatanejo for one night. It was very basic but quite clean and comfortable. AC worked. About a 10 minute walk to downtown or the waterfront, and I felt safe enough walking around the area as a solo woman. Has a small pool which is kind of enclosed in the same area as the parking lot, so no views, but it seemed clean (I didn’t use it.) Balcony off of my room had a street view. Perfectly acceptable budget stay. "

"We liked that it was right next to a market. Though busy during the day it was fairly quiet. Plus the market closes at 7pm, so it gets very quiet at a decent time. Staff was very friendly and gave great food recommendations. Our room was adorable and exactly what I'd hoped for when booking. P.S. tell Misha (the resident kitty) we say Hi."

"This hotel is ok. You can’t expect too much at this category of hotel. It’s just across the street from the main Centro of Zihua, so the location is good. There aren’t a lot of extras though - it’s a budget hotel and that’s what you get. Clean enough, comfortable enough. A little worn. The fridge and 2-burner cooktop are helpful, with sink. (Didn’t use). "

"Great views, safe, few guests, pool, impeccable grounds, new restaurant top of property, OXXO close by, several great restaurants including Jungle Pizza and Trattoria Gianni. La Ropa beach, Thompson resort steps away. Taxis cheap and plentiful. A couple suggestions: a welcome list w wifi info, atm locations, coffee and soda to get you started. Tips: carry small bills for tips, tote bag for groceries etc. Top units best to mitigate street noise. Loved our stay!!"

"My travel planning usually pays off, but Bungalow's in the Zihuataneo/Ixtapa area was a HUGE exception. As a Google Local Guide, I know to verify a hotel room or short-term rental in person before payment. What I found? A disgusting, moldy room, nothing like the online photos.
