"Everything was v clean. We stayed in the Wotter Room on the second floor. Yes it could all do with a bit of a paint in patches but the room is charming and huge. The view was amazing - we could see the fireworks in Plymouth the first night that we stayed. Had a fab Nepalese curry on Wednesday followed by an Indian pudding which was delicious. Steak on the second night. The hotel is on the edge of Dartmoor but close enough to the local tourist attractions. We will definitely return. "

Bank collapse on the Plym The river eats away at the irregular landscape created by china clay working, making a walk along the grassy bank hazardous. It has changed its course here, ironing out meanders and thus becoming swifter; this is probably the reason for the many small weirs that have been built across it in an effort at river-calming.
