"Location is convenient to main train/metro station and 20-30in walk to many sites/tourist area. Staff were pleasant. Room was basic but adequate/cheap for me as a solo traveller staying for a week. I wouldn't have wanted to stay here with a partner. Most other rooms seemed to be occupied by 'residents'. The area around the hotel is rough and dirty. You could call it "character". A mainly black and Chinese area, people sleeping on bare matresses on the street, lots of street stalls around...

"Hotel is basic, but a good night’s sleep due to the quality of the bed. The bath towel had two holes in it. The area has a number of prostitutes, but they did not actively seek business"

"The staff, cleanliness and view were amazing! Felt extremely safe and welcomed at all times. Only negative was that the walls are paper thin to the point where the whole room echos if someone flushes the toilet next door. Other than that unfortunately I did not get a sea view as there was a pine tree in the way but the positive was that my balcony was private. Would recommend, just not if you are a light sleeper like I am. "

"Very clean hotel. Rooms spacious and comfortable but fairly basic. Location very good overlooking harbour, near to restaurants, town centre and bus station. Buses excellent and all you need on the island. Very obliging proprietor, breakfast fine. Quiet, but then it was April. Very good value for money."
