"It was right in the heart of Venice, and walkable from the boat port from the airport. However, if you have lots of luggage, there are several bridges to cross and the cobblestone street made it difficult to maneuver my luggage. When we left, we took a private boat from the rear of the hotel, which made it very convenient to the train station. The historical beautiful property was very special."

We had a small but comfortable room with a shared bathroom (there were 2 in the hall) and while I initially was anxious about that, not once did we ever feel like it was shared. The staff keeps the hotel and bathrooms INCREDIBLY clean; you don’t even get the feeling that there are others staying there. The location is also incredible - everything is within 15 mins walking. "Most hotels provide guests with two soaps for a week long stays, one hand soap and one bath soap. I got one hand soap and one shampoo upon arrival. Later in the week, soap was entirely used up, but no replacement soap left by the maid. I was gone every morning, returning late at night. "Location was great.. walkable distance to the city center and most tourist spots you could think of, the staff are incredible accommodating and even let me in the room early like 2 hours before check in time... my only issue was the internet. I worked well in the hallways but would disconnect about half an hour after I’m in the hotel rooms. Also the elevator though it works well, it is quite small.. so if you’re a big party.. it may take you several trips to get everyone up. Other than that...

"Hotel Merlini is a beautiful and unique stay! My girlfriend and I stayed for 3 nights and loved our room, the rustic Tuscan decor and the family who run the hotel are so hospitable and friendly, we didn't want to leave! The location is so central in Florence, recommend very highly!"
