"Nice clean family room, exactly as the pictures showed, perfectly functional room. Nice breakfast, served until 10 , which is nice if you’re a bit lazy in the morning! Great location, bang in the middle of town , 10 mins walk to the castle, and plenty of pubs and restaurants. The bar prices were quite steep (£7.35 a pint!!) but the cocktails were reasonably priced. "We were met by a very friendly and helpful receptionist and this set the positive scene that was repeated by all the staff we met for the whole of the visit. The food was excellent along with the service that came with it. The hotel is as expected ie an old building in need of some repair that was full of atmosphere and history. The gardens, inhabited by the beautiful resident peacocks were well maintained and nice to walk around. We were only there for a weekend break but I could visualise how...
