"We had a nice stay at Balgownie. We were treated to a complementary wine tasting, the grounds were very nice, the breakfast was excellent and the room (admittedly, we chose the “standard” room) was adequate. The gym was untidy, the AC didn’t work in the gym (nor did the Wi-Fi) and it’s a small gym/pool area. It’s a nice location for exploring the area."

"Thank you to Phil and his staff for a fabulous stay. Valentines Day dinner was excellent. We appreaciated the extra touches, the shared cocktail, amuse bouche and shared lovers dessert. We also appreciate staff patience in the face of inadequate information from Wotif. We hope that time and finances will allow the once magnifent gardens to shine again. We will definitely be back. "

"Reception being open late was convenient and the room was a great size. Property was very tired lots of hair in the bathroom that didn’t belong to us. Had to park a long way from the room safety latch on door was broken did not feel safe."

"Was noisey and there was a mix up to what room i was in. 3rd time lucky to find my room. On leaving i noticed the mattress had blood on it and was very dirty. That was the worst mattress i had ever seen and was shocked. Wouldnt stay there again. "

There must've been something not right about the building - we could hear people chatting outside our door. Many times during the night, while we were in bed, we could hear the footsteps of the guests in the room above us. "
