"We stayed at Villa Manika at the beginning of July and had a wonderful time. The villa is a short drive to Sitia with shops, a beautiful harbour and lots of cafes and restaurants. The Management Company looked after a couple of issues which arose, including loss of hot water, very quickly. Makry Gialos is a fantastic and authentic resort, away from the tourist hot spots. "A lovely place, situated conveniently close to beaches, various restaurants, local shops and a 'mini'market'. Free parking is available uncovered or covered. None of the properties around the 20m x 10m pool look at each other, increasing your privacy. The only downside was the management dealing with problems etc. We advised them that the TV was not working. They said that that they would arrange for an engineer to come out, but nobody came."

Driving a must really as the local cafes, supermarkets and beaches all down the bumpy gravel track to villa about 5 mins away only but definitely a must. The pin drop for villa also essential especially if arriving in dark! One of our best family holidays in an unpretentious area that’s not full of British tourists!"

"All I want to say is that the pictures on VRBO are beautiful, but they don’t do this property justice! We loved every inch of Moonlight Villas & hated to leave. The location is ideal in which you can walk to the grocery store, pharmacy, bakeries and restaurants. The beautiful Lybian sea is right in front of the villa. Snorkeling was fantastic! Dora, the owner, and the property manager, Poppie, were very accommodating and hospitable. I highly recommend this property!!!"
