"The check in was fabulous and we had a lovely room (Room 1) that actually has a kettle! We had a terrace with views of Xativa Castle and also the town and valley, all framed by pine and cypress trees. Deb had injured her knee so was able to sit on the terrace, read her book and chill as we watched the sunset. We had breakfast both mornings at the hotel and the breakfast was fabulous and we ate far too much delicious food. After breakfast I had a wander around the grounds. The views really were spectacular, especially with the early morning mist, and you could see sections of the town walls stretching from the valley up to the castle. We ate one dinner in the hotel as Deb had already perused the menu, although I was somewhat sceptical. There were weird things like sea urchin, pig's ear, lamb gizzards and duck liver but I opted for sea bass and Deb had rabbit lasagna. The food was just magnificent. Right from the bread and olive oil, with the type of oil and its characteristics being explained to the main course and desserts there was nothing I could improve upon. I had two desserts - a cheesecake and a hazelnut mousse and both were fabulous. We left feeling full but not bloated, a lovely way to round off Deb's birthday. Our room was fabulously quiet, service throughout the hotel was impeccable, the room had modern heating/cooling if needed and a modern bathroom. "This is a small hotel, on the beach front with an excellent help your self buffet restaurant. Staff were welcoming, very friendly. Room was basic but bed comfortable, ample supplies including water. A mini bar was available but with a nice coffee bar available downstairs not necessary. A band played in the bar in the evening but finished earlier enough not to disturb our sleep. We thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay. Parking is available in a municipal underground carpark, which I suspect will be very busy in season at a further cost."
