"Before arriving the house caretakers emailed explaining that the shower roller was broken, and the landing lights were not working. An issue as the top of the stairs are tricky with a stair gate and cut away step outside the bathroom. We were supplied with battery operated lights to remedy this. "Booked this home while visiting my son at university.Communication with the host was excellent, prompt and courteous. Was given all information upfront, and in writing… And any issues were immediately addressed. The house was extremely clean, on a quiet residential street with practically no noise. Less than a 10 minute walk to the university, and approximately a 10 minute walk into town… For shopping, dining, and sightseeing. Well equipped kitchen, full-size refrigerator…and washing machine...

"We had a lovely time in this beautiful house - there was plenty of living space for the whole group to spread out and we loved having a big group dinner in the grand dining room. The house is old and some niggles are to be expected (minor cobwebs, loose doorknobs, a couple of chipped mugs) and they definitely didn't take away from our love for the place (and shouldn't deter anyone else!)."

"Great house in a convenient location. Lots of space and everything you need for a comfortable stay.We travelled over from Canada and drove straight up from Heathrow. When we arrived, the host had left enough food for our breakfast the following morning as well as milk and tea for us. Couldn’t ask for anything better after 15 hours of travel."

"From start to finish - excellent! Amazing location, very short walk into Chester centre (which is the most beautiful place and somewhere I will be returning to in summer).
