LIFE ABOVE 1200’

This home is a very special place; top of the mountain, abundant wildlife, secluded, southern exposure, and super cozy comfy. 10 min into Woodstock. House is immaculate with lovely linens, wonderfully equipped kitchen and good vibes. I am opening my home to others to enjoy so that I can get away. I have lived on the property for 25 years and have poured my love into it. Now I am ready to focus on another project with your support. I am an artist, originally from N.Y.C. The Space You will be on top of the mountain. 4x4 or all wheel drive vehicles with decent clearance and good tires only please. 2 vehicles max. 3 people max. Proceed with caution on driveway and please drive slowly. Please co-exist with wildlife; no hunting or feeding the animals. There are occasionally bear. Please be mindful of this. Guest Accesss The whole place is yours. You are surrounded by forest. The garage is off limits as well as the storage barn and the cabin. All locked and unoccupied. The cabin is my next project. Interaction with guests My preference is to meet you upon arrival to answer any questions and to introduce you to the house. I may frequent the property at large during your stay to swap vehicles, or not come at all. I am happy to advise you on outdoor adventures or leisure activities including local nightlife. Other things to note Bring slippers or flip flops. My 93 yr old father stays at the house from time to time when I am not hosting and is severely allergic to dogs and cats. There is no living room per say. Having always been an outdoors kinda gal the Southern Catskills is my living room. The kitchen, and deck off the kitchen are the main hang out areas and super cozy comfy. So get outside and breathe some fresh air!!! THE NEIGHBORHOOD Although Woodstock may be the allure, I myself prefer outdoor activities. You are in the heart of the Southern Catskills. Fishing, Hiking, Biking, Skiing, Climbing, Swimming, Sailing, are encouraged. There are monasteries to visit both Buddhist and Zen as well. The property is 10 min from Woodstock, 10 min from Rt 28, 5 min from Bearsville. There is a farm on the corner where you can get fresh eggs, fields with cows, goats and chickens. Getting around Bicycles, kayaks, climbing gear, snowboards, skis, sneakers, hiking shoes, rain boots, slippers, crampons, sailboats......OR JUST STAY PUT AND RELAX.

great place! Loved it.
Awesome cabin in the woods. Quite and peaceful but still close to town. Great fire pit and wood burning stove in the house. Owner was very nice and gave us lots of recommendations on things to do. Perfect stay.

Back to nature
This is a cabin in the woods in the truest sense, but I would not call our weekend roughing it. The house was absolutely charming (and yes, quirky) and we had everything we could have possibly needed right at our fingertips. Thirza is a most gracious host. From the moment she greeted us, showed us around the house, gave us quite a few insider tips on where to go and what to do in the area, she was a pleasure to deal with (or just chat with). We enjoyed our "quiet" (plenty of sounds of nature) evenings on the porch with a few nibbles and glass of wine picked up at a store nearby. You feel like you are in a very remote area, but really, a trip to the town takes only about 10 minutes. We would definitely come back. Thank you for everything!
