"We stayed here before and were thrilled to come back. It is a spacious and comfortable location. We made dinner, did laundry, had a soak in the tub, and even played a few games of lawn chess! Highly recommended."

"The property was just as expected and perfect for us on our 18 day holiday in Christchurch. The weather was terrible, but the cottage was warm and comfortable. There was plenty of room for our things and we were able to entertain friends and family. Even though the surrounding area isn't inspiring, we were amazed how quiet it was, and the closeness of public transport was good. "We would highly recommend this place! The hosts are very friendly, and even dropped us off at a couple of places we were going to. Their wee dog is very sweet. The cottage is extremely comfortable and was well kitted out with all the essentials plus quite a few luxuries! It truly felt like a home away from home. And so quiet. "It was a nice way to end the day, long drive and then in quiet of outskirts of Christchurch. Lovely to have a robe to wear, comfortable, great to have Netflix, great shower, all amenities plus milk, bread, really enjoyed. Thanks."

"We were unaware it was only 2 bedrooms with 2 double beds... but worked just fine because the boys had sleeping bags on one bed. Dishwasher was not functioning safely with drawers unable to take weight so we chose to hand wash our dishes. Apart from that we enjoyed our stay."

"This was a Victorian Cottage, with beautiful gardens and a wonderful location. I loved staying in this very historic home. Far away from the maddening crowd, this was a peaceful place to spend 3 nights. The birds were our favorite entertainment. Charming Lyttleton is just a short drive down the waterfront road and Christchurch is a beautiful drive from the cottage. Lot's of room, comfortable eat-in kitchen. easy place to relax in. "

"It was easy access to the accommodation which was spacious and clean. It was simple and we were comfortable. It is in a good location with a bus stop right outside. Frequent buses go to the city center and we could walk to the beach. I highly recommend this little gem."

"Simple, functional space in a quiet reserved farming area. The cottage had everything we needed, and it was just a short drive to Rangiora. David brought us fresh-baked bread, which was fantastic. We ran into some unexpected health issues and David was extraordinarily kind and helpful."

"It started by being difficult to get a reply from the owner while booking. On arrival,we were not expected. The owner did arrive, apologised for the mix up and made an effort to clean it, but we just wanted to relax after a 4 hour drive on Christmas Eve. He perhaps didn't have enough time to clean properly because every area was dirty from floors, to shower to kitchen items and the fridge had expired food in it. It also felt uncomfortable with personal items: medications in fridge and legal...

"It was a real privilege to stay at Lyddington. The cottage is comfortable and well provisioned, the host amiable and the setting something that Capability Brown could have imagined. It was truly a charming and relaxing time"

"Cute cottage, easy access and parking. Lovely new kitchen and bathroom. Overall cottage needs some maintenance work e.g. one of the bedroom doors didn’t shut, the second bedroom is quite small for two beds. The grounds could do with a bit of work as well. "
