The living spaces are located beneath the upper deck, and feel more like an in-law apartment, but it was the perfect size for myself and our 4-year old. "If you are looking for some beach time - this is the place. Great access to the beach. If the evenings/nights are chilly there is only 1 space heater so use accordingly. The sofa bed is lumpy but serviceable. The TV is in the bedroom and we could not get it to work. The owner offered suggestions but they did not work. "My husband and I had our son and granddaughter staying with us. The access to the beach right out our door was so perfect for my sand loving, wave hopping preschooler!The kitchen was sufficient for our meals that were prepared as we went. It is within walking distance to downtown Stinson, where we enjoyed latte’s and treats. My son was able to crab fish right out our front door, and we were thrilled to be able to enjoy the fruit of his labor. Perfect!"

"Great stay at Hotel Julian. My daughter and I spent a few nights at this newly renovated hotel, while visiting the SF area. In a quiet neighbor, close to Union Square but away from the hustle and bustle. Felt very safe walking around and the hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. Adding this to our list of places we would stay again."

"The staff were courteous and offered many suggestions to help us make the most of our trip whilst also saving money/time. The hotel is well-situated in a safe neighborhood and is a brisk 25-30 minute walk away from the pier/fisherman's wharf. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would recommend this hotel as an affordable place to stay when visiting the city. "
