"We really enjoyed our stay. 2 Adults and 2 children (11&9). Location is outside of the city center but it was good to be near the windmills, have the use of the boat and the bikes which we would not have had if we had been in the city center. Children really liked staying on the houseboat. We bought food from the Dekemart and ate at Het Heerenhuis twice which was very good. Uses Uber and the bus to get around as well as the bikes. "The property was occupied by another group, causing me to incur additional expenses due to the last minute purchase of a hotel room. The property handled the situation horribly and weeks later hasnt replied to my multiple emails or even refunded what I paid for my stay. I arrived at the property after driving for 13 hours due to a closed highway in Amsterdam. The listing does not provide a code for the car gate, so I had to tail-gate someone into the property. The key code didn't work and...

"we were surprised at how big the houseboat was, uitgeest is a lovely place and the view of the lake and sky was stunning. the only little annoyances were: - there was no lamp in the living area and the lighting was a bit too bright - there was a toaster oven instead of a toaster - we had to make the beds ourselves which i'm perfectly willing to do in a hostel but don't really want to do when we're paying hundreds of pounds and have had no sleep on the journey there (also the bedding and...

"Our family stayed at Anouk's lovely houseboat during a recent trip to the Netherlands to visit family. The boat is well maintained, comfortable and clean. The location is very accessible to the train and to amenities in Zaandam. No matter how busy the day, the beauty and comfort of the houseboat always made for a relaxing return. Highly recommend!"

"The property is not even close to its description. It was nosy when we arrived and cannot be seen as private as it is overlooked from close properties on all sides. It was dirty and the "beech art" clearly smelled of rotting. In summary this is not designed to be rented. I would give it zero stars if I ould "
