"The staff were excellent, professional and helpful. Keith was amazing as wedding coordinator/liaison. Andrew and Sean at Reception were great. There was also a young lady in the restaurant, (young with strawberry blonde hair)unfortunately i didn't get her name, but she was wonderful. My only recommendation would be that it is sometimes the "little things" that can detract from excellence. That said an ancient building must require continuous maintenance. All in, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Lumley Castle Hotel."

"We are just back from a two nights break at the ‘Derwent Manor Hotel’ celebrating three birthdays and we were completely blown away from the start to the finish. Debbie and Natalie who made us so welcome on arrival. There was eleven of us in the group and everyone was blown away with the quality of their rooms along with the quality of the food and service that we received both at dinner time and breakfast time. We all agreed that we’d had a great weekend and took our hats off to the staff that looked after us. None of us found a single fault with the weekend break and we will definitely look to book there again in the future as there is so much to do and see in the area. Thank you to management and staff for taking care of us."

"Lovely stay at Ramside. First time we have been here and we will be back. Staff were lovely, very helpful and friendly. Room was nice, only issue was that it smelt a bit damp when we walked in but opened patio doors and aired it and was ok afterwards. Lovely clean rooms. Beds not the most comfortable. Pillows were lumpy and a double/king size bed would be better than 2 beds put together, kept falling down the middle. Next time may look to upgrade to a premier room. Restaurants are lovely and the food was amazing. Haven’t tried the Asian fusion one yet but heard good things about it. Spa is one of the best ones around. Booked in for a massage. Would highly recommend. Gym and pool area is great for relaxing. "
