"Our overall stay was great. The house was exactly as described in the listing. If you want a peaceful, serene surrounding with really no one else around, this is the house for you. Beautiful location in what feels like the middle of a mountain. Across in the distance to one side you see the side of Whiteside Mountain and to the other side of the property you’re overlooking tree tops and rooftops in the distance. There really weren’t any sounds other than hearing the birds chirp and echo throughout the tree lines. And an occasional woodpecker was a highlight to nature’s Symphony while sitting outside. We spent several evenings outside in the hot tub overlooking Whiteside Mountain, and enjoyed many of the outdoor games that the owners provided. Plenty of board games and activities, including books, on the inside of the house as well. The house had all the amenities we needed for our trip, and were exactly as described in the listing. The owners were extremely communicative, and we appreciate the thoroughness of the details shared with us prior to our trip so that we knew exactly what we were getting into upon arrival. The house is located centrally between Highlands and Cashier’s, although I would suggest it’s a little quicker of a trip into Cashier’s (10-15 min) versus Highlands (15-20 min). We would recommend this house to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway in the mountains and in close proximity to the Highlands and Cashier’s area. Thank you! "

"This was the perfect spot for a weekend getaway! Nicely tucked away and so peaceful. About 20 minutes from most of the hikes/waterfalls/town we wanted to go to but such a beautiful drive! Hot tub was a great touch. Hosts were so kind! We will certainly be back! "

"We recently sold our family vacation home in Highlands that we had for about 50 years. We were scouting for a property that would work even when we had a larger family gathering. Just 5 of us went up and every single individual just loved this property. The house is very large with beautiful rustic decor. The multiple bedrooms across three separate floors affords great privacy. The kitchen and laundry were incredibly stocked well beyond anything we've seen at this type rental. Great outdoor covered area with stone fireplace that can accomodate 10-15 people easily. We'll be back for sure."

"We had an amazing stay at this beautiful mountain home in Highlands, NC! From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the hosts went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable and welcoming experience. The kitchen was impressively well-stocked—not just with the basics, but with thoughtful extras like paper towels, spices, cooking supplies and even a bottle of Chardonnay!The home itself was spotless, with spacious bedrooms and a great layout. Having a private bedroom and bath on each floor was perfect for our group, and the two living spaces made it easy for everyone to spread out and relax. The beds were super comfortable, and the porches on both levels were a fantastic touch—ideal for enjoying the peaceful mountain views, especially in warmer weather.Communication with the hosts was seamless, and they even checked in during our stay to make sure we had everything we needed. Checkout requirements were minimal which was nice! If we had to be really picky, the lower-level tub/shower is quite deep—something to keep in mind for those with mobility concerns. But honestly, that’s just nitpicking.Overall, this was a fantastic rental, and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Highly recommend!"
