"We had a lovely time in this beautiful house - there was plenty of living space for the whole group to spread out and we loved having a big group dinner in the grand dining room. The house is old and some niggles are to be expected (minor cobwebs, loose doorknobs, a couple of chipped mugs) and they definitely didn't take away from our love for the place (and shouldn't deter anyone else!)."

"Extremely spacious and well equipped with one exception, given the unusually warm weather—no AC, some fans, and no screens on windows that do open. The garden has a knockout location right on the river and some rooms also have this gorgeous view, including the huge bathroom with freestanding tub. There are however a lot of stairs. "The house was a great place to stay with lots of interesting places to visit in the area. A great deal of thought has been given to the layout of the property with three good sized bedrooms all with their own bathroom. The main room with its lovely views across the countryside was a great size with comfortable sitting and a very efficient wood burning stove. "House was exceptionally clean with everything we needed for our stay, the place was looking a bit tired and could do with a paint and new carpets but can’t fault the cleanliness of the place which to me is highly important, great communication throughout our stay, would definitely recommend and use again when staying in Chester"

"The Nook is a lovely place located in a perfect position to explore Shrewsbury and the surrounding area. The quality of the furnishings and particularly the bed are very good. We enjoyed our stay and would certainly consider a further visit in the future. The only reason for four stars rather than five is due to the narrow spiral staircase which is quite steep. We could manage it but for some people it would be a real challenge."
