It was truly wonderful and unique to see that a hotel can also be a museum. I enjoyed the art. Unfortunately, when I entered the room for which I paid an upgrade, there was a very linty throw that also had white stains splattered all over it. They were very visible. I couldn't not understand how housekeeping would keep this throw on the bed with the stains. Also, there were no small wash towels in the bathroom so I had to use a hand towel to take a shower when I arrived. I was already in the shower so I had no choice. I did call and ask for a new throw and wash towels but unfortunately, they left the old stained one in my room, really! OMG. They did provide daily housekeeping but one day it was clear that they had not swept or vacuumed. The design of the room was wonderful with a big tub and a wallterfall like shower head. The view of the bay was spectacular. If you are an American tourist, the American dollar is strong and you can afford this extra cost. Overall, it was a good value for the American dollar. The manager was a bit rude and snippy at the beginning when I was not satisfied with my room and I opted for an upgrade. However, due to the California fires, I did have to leave early and they were accommodating by allowing me to leave early. Overall, great hotel, outstanding location next to the convention center and the NZ museum as well as the oceanfront walk and restaurant area. Housekeeping, well they need to work on that a bit & Manager needs to learn patience
