"It was quite unfortunate that the room I booked had been assigned to someone else already when I arrived. There was another room though, less big, less comfy, incorporated into the owners' house that could be occupied. My first intention was to cancel the booking, but then I gave another thought to the situation, kept it as it was, accepted the small room for one night in order to spare all the hassle of finding yet another guesthouse. Weligama Bay Resort

4.5 star property
8.4 out of 10, Very Good, (61)
"Overall a really nice, comfortable place to stay. Wait staff, Marlin, and exec chef were friendly and enjoyed our conversations! Breakfast was good, dinner was good, grounds and pool area very well kept. The superior room was spacious, clean, and loved our balcony. Stayed for 2 nights, ate our meals there, lounged poolside for the day, and just had a fantastic leisurely time, which is all we had on our itinerary for Weligama! Would definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again!"

"I loved the location which was on the beach and it was a great view to see surfers surfing. Loved the food and the music wasn't too loud. I can't remember the name of the gentlemen staff but he spoke good English and was Sri Lankan who used to work in the middle east. He really really made us feel welcome and comfortable. Taking the extra trouble to make guests feel welcome. If you had the pleasure to meet him during your stay, he will surely look after you. The room was beautiful and spacious &...
