The Vista at Angel Ridge

The Vista at Angel Ridge can be summed up in one word...luxury. Everything you are looking for in a vacation rental home has been thought of with this amazingly well-equipped log home. This property sits squarely on top of Angel Ridge at 4,000' in elevation, offering panoramic views and year-round access. The wall of windows beneath the vaulted ceiling in the great room offer an abundance of natural sunlight and look out onto an expansive wraparound deck taking in the mountain range and the valley below.

The brand new five-person hot tub is the perfect way to spend an evening under stars gazing out on the mountains. In the great room two sofas sit facing each other to allow for conversation and enjoyment of the warmth of the gas fireplace. This property has room for everyone and something for everyone as well including a master king suite on the main floor which has a private balcony and a luxurious bathroom with a garden tub. There are four guest rooms including a top floor king suite, a queen room and additional room with two twin beds which can be easily converted to a king. There is also a queen room and bath located on the bottom floor. This spacious open home will accommodate up to 12 people and has six HDTVs with Direct Satellite and Internet TV capabilities. A fully equipped game room includes a pool table, foosball table, and dart board and also contains a day bed with trundle underneath for two additional twin beds. Extend your fun as you sit outside on the lower deck, remembering your day and enjoying the warmth of the fire pit as steaks cook on the gas grill above, perfectly situated under the partially covered portion of the upper deck. A laundry room is outfitted with washer and dryer.

The Vista at Angel Ridge offers central heat/AC, gas log fireplace, WiFi, DirectTV, Internet TV, hot tub, gas grill, and plenty of parking. The Vista at Angel Ridge is an excellent location to explore the area. Mere minutes away from Lake Junaluska Conference Center & Golf Course, Waynesville, and Maggie Valley makes The Vista at Angel Ridge a great location for skiers, the mountain adventurer, and peace seekers.

Please note this property is not pet friendly. Unauthorized pets on property will incur a $300 per pet penalty. The Vista at Angel Ridge is located on a mostly paved steep mountain road. The road is paved until the last two tenths of a mile which is a short, steep gravel road. Winter weather road conditions will require a 4-wheel drive/all-wheel-drive and/or tire chains. This property is not suitable for persons traveling by motorcycle or for trailers. Exterior security cameras are on premise.

Just a few minutes’ drive to the heart of Maggie Valley, Cataloochee Ski Area (known for being one of the first ski resorts in the US to open each year), Tube World (snow tubing), Wheels Through Time (a historic motorcycle museum featured on the History Channel's “American Pickers”), horseback riding and golfing. In about 25 minutes, you could be in Waynesville at Ingles and Publix grocery stores, Walmart or head to Main Street in Waynesville and enjoy additional shopping, dining, and sightseeing.

This home is about a 35-minute drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and Harrah's Cherokee Casino (even if you do not gamble, Harrah's has some of the best restaurants around), Pisgah National Forest, several golf courses, and just west of Cherokee is Bryson City (home of the Great Smoky Mountain Railway and “Polar Express” during the Christmas Holiday).

A little more than 50 minutes away, you’ll arrive in Asheville eat the Biltmore Estate & Winery (America's largest and most visited privately-owned home), many great restaurants and micro-breweries, and 1 hour and 30 minutes away is Transylvania County (home of the most waterfalls in the United States) and over 100 Antique Shops.

Approximately, 1 hour away heading south to Hendersonville, you can visit Sierra Nevada Brewery (with their enormous dining and Tap Room), gem mining, white water rafting, zip-lining and much more in the surrounding areas. You are just under 1 hour 35 minutes to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee (home of Dollywood).

Family Getaway
We absolutely loved this cabin. It's spotless and comfortable and functional. The view from the top of the mountain is breathtaking. It felt extremely private at the property and it was silent, as a cabin in the mountains should feel. -These are my FYI points: The cabin is 3 miles straight up a mountain, with the last stretch being gravel. It was quite terrifying trying to get up the steep slope on a gravel road and up to the house. -The cabin is not stocked for you. There was ONE roll of toilet paper/bathroom and a tiny little roll of paper towel. There were NO laundry tabs for the first load, as many Vrbo places have as a courtesy. This cabin is nice, so the idea that you have to run out to the store the very first day to get essentials is a huge bummer (especially since the nearest store is not close). I feel like you should get one roll of TP per bathroom/day you've rented the place. Why should we pay the same fee for every night whether it's one night or 6 like us and still only get one roll? It's the little things that make a difference. -Lastly, the trash situation. It is stated in the extensive paper work that you have to take the trash down the mountain to a trash center, but honestly we overlooked it. It is FREE to drop it off, but what a bummer to have to buy your own trash bags, then double bag everything & drive it down the mountain to deliver it all. We honestly would stay here again, but knowing these things would've been super helpful to us.

The most beautiful sunrises and sunsets that we have ever seen. So enjoyed the beautiful views and a home where our entire family could be in one place at the same time. Large enough that we could spread out.

Absolutely Perfect!
The cabin is even more beautiful than the pictures! The views are INCREDIBLE!! We had three familys staying with our young kids (6 adults 4 kids) in this beautiful cabin and we had plenty of room for all of us! The outdoor living areas at the cabin were perfect for all of us to enjoy the beautiful Mountain View’s! The beds were so comfortable, the kitchen had all the amenities we needed (and then some) and the awesome firepit and hot tub were perfect for the adults and kiddos after long days of hiking! The communication with the property managers was great! They always responded within the hour (though we didn’t have any problems!) We are already planning our return visit for next summer!

Amazing views, very spacious, and well kept house. Excellent location for relaxing and enjoying the mountains. Only complaint would be that there was no firewood provided at the house, but that wasn't a big deal.

Spectacular!
Our group of 8 stayed in this cabin and it was amazing! The place is just as described and shown in the listing. Large open space with lots of room for everyone. The kitchen was fully stocked with every item you could think of, and there were plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. We loved the game room and hot tub and the views were spectacular. The only challenge with this cabin is the drive up the mountain. We’ve stayed in many cabins with steep windy roads up to them but this by far was the trickiest. We were fortunate to not have any bad weather as we did not have all-wheel drive vehicles, and would not of been able to access the cabin otherwise. The road is full of switchbacks and steep inclines the entire route. The last bit to the house is the trickiest, being a one lane, steep gravel road. Our mini van made it up each time, but we made an effort to only go out once a day and to get back before dark. Even with the challenging drive up the mountain we would definitely stay again!

Beautiful home with an amazing view. We went in Dec. and the home was beautifully decorated. It had everything we needed for a long weekend. My only complaint would it could use a few non stick pans. Could not ask for a better place and look forward to staying there again.

Perfect Home for Annual Girls Trip!
We had our annual gathering of childhood girlfriends at Angel Ridge in late April, and the home was perfect! All 10 of us had comfortable beds, room to spread out and enjoy each others company. The kitchen is well-appointed, the great room has lovely furniture, a nice fireplace, and it seats lots of people for games and movies. The decks and firepit were amazing, and the views from the outdoor spaces were incredible! The home is in very good condition, the furniture and decor are beautiful. We cooked and laughed and visited and had a terrific visit to the area. One note, the road to the home is very steep with many switchbacks. The last quarter mile or so is gravel and mud, and you really do need AWD. Would be best to not arrive in the dark. We all would highly recommend the home and would rent it again. Angel Ridge is a spacious, elegant rustic retreat where large groups will have a wonderful time.

Great Views
This property has the views and all the fun things to keep the family entertained while not hiking the GSM trails. The listing is accurate and there are many labels throughout the house to help you orient yourself and keep things in order. Beware, if you're staying during colder times the heater cannot be set over 69 and fireplace only used for 30 minutes at a time. However, each room has smaller space heaters for you to use to help keep warm. We enjoyed our stay quite a bit and will consider it again in the future.

Vacationer Beware
If you want a mountain vacation in a home that you are scared to breathe in, much less enjoy, this is the one for you! Upon arrival there was a dead mouse on a trap in one of the bathrooms. Maintenance was prompt to come resolve this issue. However, our issues only continued. Everywhere in the home were labels regarding rules- for example thermostat use, gas logs, use of installed garbage disposal and even regarding pool ball rack. They even have a pile of “rags” as they call them to clean up messes on the floor, wipe you windshield, EVEN remove your makeup so you don’t soil their linen. With that being said, there is a lack of towels and hot water! Don’t plan on using any of the big tubs in each bathroom, there wasn’t even enough hot water for a single shower one evening (much less for all guests) after enjoying an evening in the boasted hot tub amenity. Maintenance was contacted regarding this issue, but we were told they did not have access to where the hot water heater was located. So showers were short and sparse to say the least. There are also many areas that are labeled as owners areas including the closet in the master room- all you have is a chest to hang your clothes in. Some of the doors that are labeled owners only have security features that will alert the home owner if merely bumped (since they do not latch). The dishwasher is not installed properly and it looks as if Velcro was used to keep the dishwasher in place. So be careful loading the dishwasher, or the whole thing may fall out. The owners clearly hold high expectations to their vacationers but return best efforts of treating the home as our own with accusatory emails regarding damages that were not made during our stay. Including a fire pit that had “metal damage” although it was not even used the first time. The home is beautiful, the views are great but we can not recommend this home.

Beautiful, as advertised!
We loved staying here! It is at the top of a mountain with many hairpin turns -- which discouraged us from going to to dinner. The kitchen, however, needs a few more pots and pans and cooking "stuff" to really function well for a large group. We made do - and loved the house -- nonetheless!

The house worked perfectly for our 4 family fall getaway! The view is breathtaking - almost 180 degrees! We loved the large family room for our kids (6 under 5) to play. Top notch property
Our stay at this property was spectacular and exactly what we were expecting. There is plenty of space for a large gathering. EVERYTHING is labeled so you're not searching for the correct light switch. Basic essentials such as linens and toilet paper were all provided unless you're staying more than a few days. The drive up the mountain might be an issue for someone that may be uncomfortable with navigating switchbacks. Then again, how else do you get to the best views? Overall, a great time was had by all in your group. We would definitely recommend.
