The staff are charming and go out of their way to make your stay special, great food in the restaurant also. It’s a special place to experience, staffed by a lovely bunch of people."

"I stay at this location every year for a night or 2 when visiting family who live a short walk away. The owners are always friendly and have often gone above and beyond. They provide a satisfactory and convenient location, supplying the basics needed and recommend for families, especially if needing privacy. "

"Overall met our needs. Found the mattress on the bed in the master bedroom was a bit hard. Could do with a softer mattress."

"The setting is north-facing, to bush and a rocky-bedded stream. Apart from the occasional sound from some friendly animal, you hear burbling water and wind in the trees. Inside everything is ‘proper’ and well maintained. The fire has copious supplies of dry wood replenished daily, from trees on the property. The couches are comfy and the kitchen is well-appointed. Ōkaihau is 10 or 12 kms away and has cafes and stores. It is a lovely small traditional NZ town. Village? The location is convenient for all the destinations in the area whether Ngawha Springs, Kaikohe and all spots around the Hokianga."
