"Easy to find on the main road. Hosts daughter who checked me in and showed me around was very friendly. Although travelling solo, I had booked their largest room with kitchenette and it was great. Spacious, very clean, had a small balcony along one side but you could leave your room and sit on the huge upstairs balcony with comfy chairs too. Bathroom was very clean, hot water on demand and the shower was lovely with good pressure. A fridge in the room together with kettle, coffee percolator and...

"Extended my stay because it felt right there. Friendly and really helpful staff, really good breakfast on the verandah, great location and price. Could use a little TLC in places but that’s outweighed by everything else."

"Nice place to stay. Comfortable clean rooms. I thought for this price they may make the beds. I also asked for a special request that the said they could do, but they didnt end up doing it... It was flowers on the bed for my girlfriends birthday. Then we asked if we could have one more breakfast as we were still hungry as compensation for not having power for the day and then they said no, which wasnt a big deal. Just thought they may do that. The serving staff were very nice."

"Overall, this hotel is very average. There were a few positive and negatives. I’ll start with the positives. After asking for water and toiletries, they were eventually provided. They let me shower after checkout and stored my bag, which was nice! The room is very average, but there was a gap above the door that didn’t shut all the way which let bugs in at night. There was loud music late into the early morning hours from neighboring hotels. And, perhaps the most offsetting aspect for me was...

"Very nice guest house (b&b) about 25 mins walk or 5 mins by tuk tuk from centre of Galle. The hosts couldn’t be nicer or more helpful and even offered us lifts to town. Sri Lankan or English breakfasts were great. Very clean house with delightful garden in a real Sri Lankan setting. Be aware though, no hot water for showers. Overall terrific value for money."

"Possibly the smallest room Ive ever stayed in. Bed was comfortable. Furniture was old and in poor shape, stained lampshade on the tiny desk. Glass door to bathroom so all light flooded thru there. Curtains did not meet in the middle in the bedroom. Bathroom was designed as a wet room, no shower curtain, awkward tiny 1cm "step" between toilet and shower. Kept falling over it. Windows and glass shelf in bathroom were very dirty. Tiled floor in bathroom very slippery when wet no mat provided....

"Lovely hotel in a historic house with impeccable service. It has been recently refurbished and under new owners who have done a magnificent job. We stayed in the Dumas suite which has a balcony where you can watch birds and monkeys with a cup of morning tea. The serene gardens and swimming pool are a delight. "Basic guesthouse right by the fort wall and close to everything in Galle fort. The owners were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was great. It could do with a lick of paint and refurbishment which were make it a much nicer place to stay."

"What we liked: - cleanliness - the bathroom - perfect location in the fort What we didn't like: - there was no laundry service (it states there is) - we had a bad experience of service at the cake shop which is linked to the hotel. "Super friendly and helpful staff that gave great recommendations for the rest of my trip. Room was clean, A/C was cold, water was hot for shower, and breakfast was amazing. I was even served a fresh mixed juice smoothie as part of the free breakfast. This is a algreat spot to explore the walls of the Galle Fort."

"We loved everything about this house and the marvelous staff. The house is set in a stunning garden with a spotless pool right on the beach at Gintota. The hpuae is beautifully appointed with 4 lovely bedrooms, a lounge, dining room and tv room. The staff were excerional and catered to all our needs. Do not stay here

"Do not stay here, possibly one of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The room was barely functional, the glass to the balcony was majorly cracked, the bathroom barely stocked with 1 towel and a tiny piece of soap, the fridge was dirty and broken, we had wires coming out of the wall where lights were suppose to be. The food at breakfast was disgusting, I asked for a clean table and they proceeded to seat us at a dirty table without any effort to clean it and left the previous guests dirty napkins! I honestly don’t understand how this hotel is supposedly 4 stars. It should be shutdown. "
