"We originally had a deluxe double however on check in realised it didn't have a shower, was a bit misleading on the hotel pages as it says 'bath or shower' so could have been a bit clearer. However we spoke to the staff and they swapped our room so it turned out fine :) The hotel is in a lovely location, very short walk to the centre so nice and peaceful"

"Absolutely loved our stay at the Burton Stone! Inn was very walkable from both the York station and the town centre (10 minutes respectively in each direction). While the check in process was a little confusing Michael, the inn keeper, was super helpful and even gave us some recommendations on food and things to do in the area! Not only would we stay at the Burton Stone again should we return to York, we would also recommend this accommodation to any who are also visiting! "

"lovely stay - my only complaints would be that the shower was a dribble really, and we weren't the only room that said it! Lovely house, lots of stairs - didn't stay for breakfast - the only other thing was the children in the house opposite though - children only the parents could be proud of - they were shouting not nice things out the window - not very nice language either!"

"After reading some of the negative reviews we were very pleasantly surprised. Staff were helpful and attentive and actually went above and beyond. Overall the property is a little dated and and in one of our rooms the tv wasn't working properly and in another the the lightbulbs needed replacing but it's clean, the beds are comfy and it's close to town. Would definitely stay here again."
