"From beginning to end, or stay was fantastic! Thank you to Hideo and Yukako for being such warm and welcoming hosts. Hideo picked us up from the bus stop and took us shopping, allowing us to pick up anything we needed for the nights dinner and morning breakfast, then on to the house to get settled in.The house is lovely and clean with everything you could need and more. I particularly loved the Japanese style dining table with built-in blanket and heater; so cosy for the cold weather! We chose to do a day tour with Hideo around the local area the next dayTheir little dog Mei Mei came with us and was the star of the show at the grass thatched roof village. If you like textiles, the indigo museum is a must! The fish market was interesting and fun. We were surprised to see many low flying eagles while we ate our lunch! Later Yukako made us delicious soup and sashimi hand rolls which we all ate together. The birthday cake at the end was a lovely surprise for my husband! If you want a stay with a personal touch I would highly recommend staying with Hideo and Yukako. We had a fantastic time! "

"It was easy to find from the station, breakfast was good, the public bath was good ( you do need to strip down to your birthday suite), the room was good except the bed it was one step up from sleeping on the hard ground."

"This is a fantastic place to stay. The rooms are a little dated by current standards but the view and the staff make up for that. The dining experience was great and the hostess was so helpful and genuine. The food was excellent. We when on the morning cruise with departed from the lakefront of the hotel. The hotel provides a breakfast bento to eat while you cruise. So happy we stayed here. "

"Well centered Hotel and with car parking (500yn PD). Central to shops and restaurants with a FREE breakfast at the hotel as part of the booking and what a breakfast enough to say we didn't need to stop for lunch. They also had a choice of three free gifts which I picked the box which to my wife was a delight as it was a miniature Origami set. Room was clean and comfortable. "

"If you are looking for a remote lake get away in northern Otsu this is ideal. This location suits the out door adventure types who want to be away from Otsu city. The lake was an amazing place to swim. What also would be a Great Lake side party atmosphere and relaxation with a group of friends. Amazing cleanliness despite the overall facility being quite old. However rooms and common room air conditioned which was a life saver in the hight of a Japanese summer. The Hostel is not located near any shops and not close to the train station so be prepared to do some serious walking or better rent a bike whilst you are there."
