"We had a great stay at Awakino and the location was unbeatable. We had functions to attend in Mokau which was really ply only a few minutes away. We also traveled to Waikawau and it made it so easy to get to. I would recommend this premises for anyone. The owner was very accessible and very friendly even leaving some homemade biscuits and farm fresh eggs for us. It was an older style house and had everything we needed. "Beautiful location, grounds and cabin. So close to glow worm caves and have their own little glow worm grotto on the property. Only a 60 second walk from the cabins. Also close to a waterfall and black sand beach. Angus was such a gracious host who made sure we had everything we needed including toast jams and coffee.
