"We had a lovely holiday in Alvarenga. Manuel and his family were warm and welcoming and we loved attempting to chat round the pool in French and Spanish! It's a beautiful area with green eucalyptus hills and the Geo park provided some interesting spots to visit. "From when we first arrived, Paula welcomed us into her home. The house is stunning; lots of period charm with traditional features. However, the best feature of this property is the outside living space. Pictures really do not do it justice. We spent most of our time in this area, cooking, eating and spending time together as a family. The pool area was lovely and very welcome in the Portugal sun. "Fernado & Amelia were very welcoming and had generously left a welcome gift pack. We were given lots of information about services & things to do in the area. The outdoor living space with bbq & outdoor sink and plenty of charcoal together with the pool greatly enhanced our stay in early July. The only downside was there was no airconditioning (our error not noticing when booking) as in the 1st week temperatures were up to 40 degrees but fans were provided. A lovely peaceful setting."

"What a very cool place! If you like interesting lodging and nature, you will love this place. It is a bit off the beaten path however, so you'll require a car. Definitely take them up on the offer to stay for dinner. Dona Natalia's home-cooked meals are absolutely delicious (if my Cajun grandmother was Portuguese, she would be Natalia), and a great deal at 15 euros per person, with wine. "

"This is a nice calm place to escape to reconnect with nature and a slower pace of living. There are lots of nature trails to hike. Aveiro and Porto are an hour away, but you have some very unique tourism opportunities about 10 minutes away in S. João da Madeira with their industry tourism and hat and shoe museum!"

"Casa en zona de campo. Bien ubicada para excursiones en coche a Porto/Coimbra/Aveiro y playas. Se comparte el jardín (y alguna parte de la casa, aunque indep) con otros inquilinos. Manuela y familia, muy correctos y atentos. A nivel de instrumental de cocina, correcto, aunque mejorable. La piscina no es tal: 4x3 y prof 1 mtr, para refrescarse y poco más. En resumen, muy bien. Huerto y jardín: muy bien. Volveríamos. A mejorar: En el jardín faltan luces (huerto, parking, piscina no tienen...

"A lovely museum house and very welcoming environment. Lily was there waiting for me and did a tour of the house of the late Artist. It was a very unique stay. Kitchen was replenished for guests to use. Thank you for a lovey experience."

"This is an excellent property, bigger than a hotel, with more amenities, and so close to everything. We could walk where we wanted and always felt safe when we got home late. The staff was super friendly and communication was perfect. We will be coming back here when we stay I Aveiro! "

"Loved the hotel it was very easy to find we paid extra for a canal view which was lovely. Tea and coffee and biscuits in the room all welcome. Toiletries in the bathroom were very nice and a big bath towel! There wasn't a huge amount for breakfast but was more than enough to fill your plate over and over. The coffee was delicious! Parking isn't on site but you can drop your bags at the door and the car park isn't far to walk- we paid €8 with a card from reception. The staff were lovely. Would highly recommend."
