"Good little como spot"

"Our extended family (three generations) stayed for a week at the holiday house. We had a wonderful stay. It is a historic home so there are lots of quirks to remember, but all of them made sense. The kitchen and dining area have everything that you need to make meals for the entire family. "If you are looking at visiting the Lake Como area with your kids, or other families, I strongly recommend Mandello and Villa Ornella. The layout of the house is great, the size perfect to accommodate 2 or even 3 families and Furio was a great host. It was just me and my wife and our 3 young (and restless) boys and we had a great time. The pool and the living room with the amazing veranda were perfect family entertainment areas. The location is great as well - Mandello is close to everything yet...

"There’s no question it’s a beautiful home overlooking Lake Como, with a charm that is remjniscent of something out of a Harry Potter novel. Unfortunately, the home itself self has a fair amount of deferred maintenance. Lightbulbs were burned out in master bathroom, the door handle on the washing machine was broken, certain shutters didn’t work, there is no air conditioning in any room and some of the wiring is unlikely to be up to code, although I dont know that for sure. "This was our second stay in this beautiful villa and we enjoyed our stay even more since we were familiar with the area. It is located near enough to tourist-busy Bellagio, but far away enough that it is relaxing and quiet. The villa is beautiful and nicely furnished; the owner responds quickly and is welcoming. We hope to be back a third time!"

"Though we had to travel for 26 hours to get to Barni from Australia, the experience was worth the effort. Being in a quiet village and being able to engage with the people in the village certainly made the stay in the Villa extraordinary.
