"Where to begin. The outside looks great then you get into the actual building. It starts off with no lighting in the hallways. Once getting to my room we encountered a Smokey, cold dwelling with hints of dog or other animal. "The room was perfectly acceptable in this hostel and the hostel is right on one of the nicest beaches in the area. Luxury and bellmen offering drinks on the beach is not what this hostel is about. "Accueil sympathique mais c'est tout...en 4 nuit les serviettes de bain n'ont pas été changées et lits n'ont pas été fait...chambre et salle de bain minuscules pour 3, literie de très mauvaise qualité, très mal insonorisé, pas de fenêtres, clientèle très bruyante, pas de gel douche ni de shampoing et 1 seul rouleau de papier toilette en 4 jours...bref hormis l'accueil sympathique et la proximité du centre ville rien de bien. On est quand même presque 100€ la nuit a ce prix là nous attendions...

"Bonavista is at the edge of the tourist area, in a quiet part of Calella. 10 mins away from the beach, the same distance to the main street with the restaurants & shops. It is a very basic hotel, but very clean. Rooms were cleaned & bedding changed daily. When we arrived it was very late & the night porter opened the bar for us so we could have a beer, which was great. We asked for extra pillows & towels & received them within minutes. "Wonderful property that's close to old town site seeing but not loud that can happen if you're in the middle of everything. Being on top of the hill has the advantage of best place to see the city below and sunset from the beautiful roof top terrace over the mountains on the other side of the city. The location also can make it a bit difficult to walk bach to hotel as other reviews have noted. It's not that bad and if needed you can stop to catch your breath on one of the walls. It is a very short walk to the shops and restaurants down in the old town area. Everything was well cared for and clean. They have an online restaurant and bar so you don't need to head down again if you want to stay there in the evening. Area seems safe and is residential so no need to worry about being out late at night. Highly recommend this modern friendly hotel!"
