For the savings, I would probably stay in the budget Ibis again because it had everything I needed and it was right across from the train station. Both are convenient for touring the town or beginning the Camino."

But permanently closed - No lift - and we were on the 2nd floor - Hotels.com reviews are misleading. To say this place is exceptional is rubbish. It’s a third rate hotel and the photos of the bar and restaurant are totally misleading. - Rooms are very basic with no kettle, tea or coffee making facilities to make your stay more comfortable. - Rooms are not air conditioned which may be uncomfortable in summer - No bar fridge which is always handy - Nothing to soften the blow. - Traffic noise is intrusive even with shutter down If you’re just looking for a B&B to spend the night this place may suit as the bed was a comfortable king. However you’re going to have to go out and find somewhere to have dinner. We didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment. "

"The good points were the daily cleaning and bed-making service was good and I liked the cube storage. Also, reception gave us good recommendations for excellent French food. However, the first room we were assigned had not been cleaned and we found glass on the floor of the second room. The bathroom 'tiles' needed cleaning of the pretend grouting. We could not get an evening meal in the restaurant as it was only for a pre-booked group. There was no bottled water or kettle in the room. The mattresses are foam and killed my back. My first experience of an Ibis and not one I wish to repeat - I hate to think what the Budget Ibis is like."
