"Me and my partner stayed here for 7 days, the property was absolutely perfect. The location is great it’s easy to find and tucked away but also 10 minutes from town (Selfoss) and 50 minutes from the south coast sites. The cabin was very cosy and had all the amenities we needed, the bed was comfy and perfect. We woke up and were greeted by chickens and a dog outside which was a lovely surprise. "Grund is truly a gem. It's a beautiful and very comfortable house in a quiet and sparse "neighborhood". It was such a treat to watch the sun set over the Icelandic landscape from the sauna and watch the aurora right from the house (it's a fairly good viewing point with lots of open sky, dark enough though you could drive another 45 min away to be in a totally dark zone). Thorsteinn is a very responsive host and we were in touch during the whole stay. I will be recommending Grund to my friends...

"We stayed here for 4 nights in July, two adults and two children (8 and 10). The cottage is located a 30-45 min drive from a lot of cool sites, and 20 mins from Selfoss with shops and cafés. The cottage itself is really nice, clean and well kept, with a very nice hot tub! Would recommend sleeping with the windows closed in the summer though, to keep the gnats/mosquitos out. We learned the hard way the first night 😅"

"We had a wonderful stay at this lovely property. Clean, bright and welcoming with very nice homey touches. The hot pot was fantastic after a 6 mile hike. The location couldn't be beat, so close to all the sites for the Golden Circle. Communication with Sven was excellent. We flew in very late at night and his directions were perfect! "

Sitting in the hot tub after a hike in Laugarvatn, looking out over the lake with the northern lights above us. How can you match that! And our hosts were accommodating in every way we could hope for. "

"The communication from the owner was clear and the unit was clean. We were able to see the Norther lights during our stay. However, you have to go through 1.5km gravel road to get there."

"Our stay here was beyond fantastic. A lot of thought was put into the design and comfort of the apartment. It was well equipped, everything was in working order, and extremely comfortable to spend time in. It was in a great location for driving to sites on the Golden Circle. There is a restaurant nearby, Restaurant Varma, that is in walking distance and it's a reasonable drive to Reykjavik or the Keflavik airport. "
