"The hotel offers a charming atmosphere in the heart of Båstad. The interior is well-designed, with plenty of seating areas and fireplaces, creating a relaxing environment. The rooftop pool and bar area are particularly appealing and provide a great spot to unwind. One unique aspect is the constant flow of guests in robes, moving between the spa and the outdoor baths, which adds to the relaxed vibe. The room itself had some quirks. The sink is located outside the bathroom, which can be inconvenient, especially at night. The rooms are small but quiet, with open wardrobes and minimal storage. The bed felt narrow and short, though we’re accustomed to a king-size at home, so this may be personal preference. Both the pillows and the bathroom towels were surprisingly small, which detracted slightly from the experience. Breakfast is served in a spacious restaurant with beautiful views. While the spread isn’t the largest we’ve encountered, it covers all the essentials and maintains a good quality. Overall, despite a few imperfections, the hotel delivers a high standard, particularly for a Swedish property, and remains one of the better options available."

"Nice hotel polite staff and good breakfast (but VERY busy at 06.30 I had to leave without any!) building work was going on and so ask for a room at the front (note this is not an option for disabled travelers all rooms with showers/accessible rooms are at the back)"

"Elite Hotel Martenson is situated in old town Halmstad and walkable from the train station. The central location provides easy access to restaurants, parks, cultural events, public facilities and a short bicycle ride to a beautiful beach. The hotel itself was very quaint, well maintained and the staff were always friendly and helpful. The restaurants on site provided another excellent amenity. Although we did not get a chance to use the gym it was probably one of the best equipped we’ve seen"

"Despite a very rainy stay (which has nothing to do with what the Hostel can influence ;-), we really enjoyed the stay (family with teenagers)! A clean, warm and nice room to stay with clean bed linen and towels, shower and toilet in the room and easy access (indoors) to the guest kitchen (which is actually two huge cooking spaces, very clean, tidy and equipped) with space in the fridge for each guest. Pool and ping pong table available (no cost!) and a great sauna! A lake nearby, which we did not swim in as the rain was pouring down! Grocery store (large choice of products) 7 min away from the hostel by car which is open relatively late (to check depending on when your stay is). Breakfast buffet was rich, tasty with several local products (incl. gluten free options). Very nice breakfast garden (as the sun arrived day 2!). Good "anonymous" hints from the staff ;-) on where to find Swedish "chanterelles" (mushrooms) in the surroundings and we sure did find many (but did not pick them as we would not have been able to cook them as they deserve...leave them for others if you do not intend to cook/eat!). We also found lots of blueberry's in the surrounding forests. Very eco-friendly hostel and really nice staff. As a bonus, there is an adventure park (not the same owner as the hostel), 10 min by car from the hostel with great activities in the old slalom skiing station (closed in 2022). We really enjoyed the Mountain-biking in old skiing slopes, even if the rain was pouring down! "

"Beautiful hotel in a lovely area. There is free parking on residential roads around the hotel which helps and it is right next to the bus and train station. Lovely staff and beautiful and clean rooms. "
