"We spent a wonderful week in this lovely villa in August. Very well equipped and comfortable, and in a great location to explore the area - but note the roads are very windy and hilly so it can take a while to get places! The swimming pool is great with a fantastic view, and we enjoyed taking the kayaks out on the river. The owner Maria gave us some good tips on places to visit and made us very welcome. "We thoroughly enjoyed our two week stay. A well equipped house and the fresh water pool was a delight. The views are lovely. Arie was a great host (don't forget to ask for directions). A great getaway location with easy access (30 mins by car) to Beaches, Porto, Amarante, River Duoro etc. There is much to do in the area: sight seeing, walking, riding bikes, train ride, swimming in the sea and rivers. Everyone we came across was very friendly. We'd love to come back!"

It was very warm during our stay, and as the villa doesn't have air conditioning it did get warm inside. Some more fans would be useful, as opening windows does increase outside noise. "Great property exactly as described, and the setting and views were just the best! The local town 20 mins drive on the river is Amarante and it stole our hearts. The drive straight down the mountain to a slightly closer town Celorico de Basto is not for the faint hearted, and was not repeated. The TV was in French which was a bonus as we don't speak Portugese. The host was very accommodating of our very late arrival at 11pm due to flight issues and responded to all messages immediately.A great...

"This guy needs to communicate with guests better. I requested how to get in the day before, then twice the morning of my arrival. I didn't hear from him until 2:30 pm and check in was at 3. I was in Braga at that point and had to go wait in a cafe until I got his email. (It was raining) When I showed up at the place, a couple was outside trying to get in. Then later, after I returned around 8 pm, another couple was outside who couldn't get in. I let them in."
