"This place is way, way off the beaten path. It was extremely disappointing the location this time of year. My daughter and I choose not to stay after learning that there were no amenities close by. Communication of exactly what to expect would he beneficial in choosing this place. We left anbhour after arriving, because we were both so uncomfortable "

Waking up and opening the windows for the sun to come in with the river view was priceless. The nights are so peaceful and quiet. Friends and families stayed with us and loved as well. "We absolutely loved our stay at Quinta da Marka! It was beautiful and on such a picturesque spot along the river. It was so relaxing and a restful spot for our honeymoon. The train station is nearby to get to other cities if you wanted to, otherwise it is quite isolated in this area. Walking over to Quinta do Crasto for a wine tasting & tour was a highlight of the area too! The Quinta offered breakfast, lunch, and dinner which was very convenient. Angela was so helpful in getting us checked in...

"Wonderful stay. The view is amazing. Smaller vineyard compared to the big and more popular wineries in the area, which is what we like. The drive up is beautiful. About 35 minutes from Pinhao downtown. Moises greeted us and gave us the tasting tour. We didn’t expect to learn such an amazing family history of the people and the farm. Filipa brings us wonderful organic breakfast to our door every morning. You can see her working around the farm from early morning."

"Quinta da Barroca is an excellent place for a relaxed family time in Douro or for an event. It lacks some maintenance or improvement in some things (such as the children's park and the sauna/jacuzzi), but the houses and the scenery are great. Breakfast could have some more variety, but it's good enough, the fruit is excellent, apples right from the tree "

"Petite pause sur le retour vers la France. Site et région magnifique. La vue du bord de la piscine est tres relaxante. La situation est idéale pour les amateur d'activité fluviale et de vin. Les hôtes sont tres sympas, anglais et portugais parlé. Accueilli avec un plateau apéritif et du vin de la region et petit dejeuner copieux offert le lendemain. Je recommande vivement. "We had an excellent time at Torel Quinta da Vacaria. They exceeded our expectations. This place truly is luxurious with a full spa. There is an outdoor pool and indoor pool. Steam rooms are open to all resort guests. The free breakfast was delicious with iberian ham included. The on site vineyard wine tasting was great too. Nice museum-like display told the history of douro valley vineyards."

A Sweet Spot to Stay in the Douro Valley!

"My husband and I only stayed one night here — we wish we could have stayed longer! Our comfortable room had a large terrace overlooking the Douro River, there is a nice swimming pool on the property and the views are beautiful! The included breakfast was delicious and substantial, and the dinner we had there was quite good. This is a family-owned place and the owner’s son Paolo, who is the manager, was very welcoming and kind. We would return! "

The PERFECT place to stay in Douro Valley
