"As advertised: a place to sleep and shower. No frills. Decently clean. Shuttle service was prompt and it took no more than 10 min to get to the sleepy at mid morning. The only disappointment was that the rooftop bar is closed on Mondays (which was the only night I was there). I was looking forward to cooling off in the breeze up there and having a drink. "

"I stayed at Selina/Socialtel San Jose for about a week until the 28th of January 2025 and my Spirit Animal for the stay was a Sloth because I did mostly nothing in the morning, then took a rest in the afternoon. One might not think this a feasible feat in a city such as San Jose. But, I accepted the challenge and made good on it. Mae, aquí pulseándola! "This place is CLOSED yet hotels.com keeps offering it online. I booked through hotels.com as part of my trip and when I got their and the hotel was no longer in operation, and it was a nightmare dealing with hotels.com. They are pushy and it is a mess. When I started demanding my money back, a pushy person who spoke broken English called to sell me ANOTHER hotel, but refused to give me my money back. I am realizing hotels.com is a racket."

"It was amazing hostel! I can't think of anything significant enough to complain about. The bed is SUPER soft! One of best hostel bed in my two years of traveling. There are outlet available on each bed which is useful. It's really beautiful too. One of most beautiful hostel I stayed in my two years. The service is great too. They are very nice people as well they try their best to adapt to your need. As I don't eat some specific food, they offered me a toasted bread with avocado for breakfast....

"Nice hotel in a good spot in Barrio Escalante. It was nice to have our own apartment with a kitchen. Room was clean and the staff was friendly. I could tell that booking through Expedia was an extra hurdle for them, because we didn't get standard messages like our room door code or the wifi details, those appeared to be arranged some other way which was not known to me. It's well worth the money, but maybe book on a different platform."
