"We had a fantastic stay here! The staff Alex and the team, were super friendly and had even planned daily group activities. We ordered the dinner set and it was incredible! We were able to get a ride to and from the train station, which was greatly appreciated. I would recommend giving them a call if you need to (we just used a payphone) as there was issues with sending messages on this website. "We booked the hotel the day of the trip as we had change plans due to Typhoon Haishen. When we entrance to the hotel was blocked with a rope and they did not answer the phone. There was noone to get any information, we did not get a cancellation or a notification. We were left in the typhoon with nowhere to go and struggled to find anything for hours during when the weather got really bad. "Amazing property and service. Although rather costly, the sumptuous breakfast and dinner which were both included, made it excellent value for money. The best place to stay if visiting Yufuin for a couple of days."

Enjoyable stay.

"Comfortable stay at Baien resort and walking distance 10 mins to the lake and shopping trip. Took a taxi from Yufuin station and cost JPY800. We enjoyed our stroll and admiring the autum foliage while walking out to the lake. It has 2 nice private onsens and 1 separate public onsen for male and female. Dinner and breakfast were delicious, staff are friendly. Recommended and enjoyable stay. "

"Nice property just off the main street, near train station. It is pet friendly with 3 resident cats roaming around the lobby. You get to book 2 sessions at the baths after checked in, the semi open bath on the 2nd level is popular, while the rooftop bath may not be a good idea in cold weather although the view is great. You get free use of the bicycles for your stay. There is no lift so you have to carry your luggages up and down the stairs."

"Quiet location just a short walk from the train station. Superb ryokan experience with modern amenities throughout. If you’re fortunate enough to get a room with a private onsen, you can enjoy all manner of luxury beyond the available public onsen facilities. A great option to spoil yourself, if even for a night or two. "
