My husband and i stayed here on our honeymoon, after getting married in Akumal just before. The villa was absolutely perfect! I would totally recommend the unit we stayed in, second floor, amazing vaulted brick ceiling, the deck was perfect for breakfast and our evening drinks and dinner, kitchen had everything we needed. Also a few quick steps and your on the beach. This house and location is everything I love and look for when traveling, a little off the beaten path, not crowded (at all!), and a stunning beach. I love to snorkel, and this location was ideal. The bay is well sheltered from the elements. We could snorkel right from shore and see plenty, but daily we would paddle out to the mourning buoy where the reef had a array of fish and creatures! I have been a lot of places and it was equally as exciting to some of my favorite beaches in Indonesia, virgin islands and Puerto Rico. We saw lobster, turtle, eel, sting ray, spotted eagle ray, baracuda, and so many other awesome fish!!!! In the morning when the water was glass you should take the paddle board out and you can see clear to the bottom, i would see fish, turtle, sting ray, and even a huge baracuda clear as if I had my mask on, it was really cool!
We ate in almost every meal, but we did get caviche at Chimicos at the end of the bay, they are open til about 5pm, I would highly recommend it. Also Bob's market has a really good selection of food, beer, ice cream and other stuff, it's within walking distance.
The caretakers are also worth a solid shout out, they were wonderful!
We hope to be back in the future!!!
