"Nice hotel in a handy location for rail and ferry travel. Really good selection of options for breakfast. Just find it a bit much to have to pay for a cup of coffee outside of meal times when many places in the world provide that for free. "

"Honest to goodness seemingly effortless Scandi design that pays homage to the era in which the building was built. Why rebuild a 1960's building when all you need to do is maintain it and stay true to the its original function and design. Can't get any higher eco credentials than that."

"The villa was super clean and well equipped, lots of activity to do and the beach was 20 minutes walk from the grounds. Everything looks just like the pictures on the site and nothing out of place. With Skagen 15 minutes away via car there are lots of eateries there if you don’t feel like cooking yourself of eating at restaurants onsite. Remember to check what is provided and what you need to bring yourself."

Britt, who checked us in gave us informative local knowledge and her obvious pleasure at being able to share stories of the area was very refreshing. "We stayed for one night before taking the ferry over to Norway. The place was lovely but the two sofa beds were very firm so it was difficult to get comfortable enough to sleep. There were no trash receptacles so we had to find a plastic bag to use The beach was incredible so because of that we would stay here again. "
