"The standard of accommodation was excellent as was the communication with the host. Location within a reasonable distance from the airport is a plus.....but a challenging location for shopping for supplies without access to a motor vehicle as is a long steep driveway to access the property. We were surprised that there was no free to air television coverage which was not disclosed at time of booking. Overall, we would book again for our needs, but issues highlighted will surprise and disappoint...

"A nice tidy little spot to rest our heads for a night. A dining table with a few chairs would be a great addition. Traffic noise was quite noticeable but being close to the motorway made it easy for the next leg of our journey."

"We visited the property to enjoy with family and friends. The only reason we’ve booked the property was pool and when we entered the property there was rubbish everywhere in the property. The pool was so dirty and not even working, The carpet was burnt and there was rubbish on the sofas. There was moldy chicken in the oven which was stinking."

"We loved the location and size of this property but unfortunately it is very run down. Nasty stains on the carpet, venetian blinds that don't shut properly, dead bugs on all the window and door ledges. The internet was intermittent and we could not watch live TV. There were smelly rubbish bags at the back door and we were unable to find bins for the first two days for our rubbish. "

"Was great accommodation and facilities. Would stay again, good location. We did try low-set accommodation due to age of youngest child, but none available at time. So just a couple of suggestions maybe a child rail for stairway and if broken or unuseable furniture are removed. Otgerwise great place. "

"Stunning bach. Perfect location right on the beach with steps down to the water. Quiet, spacious, suited the four is us with everything we needed. Would stay here again next time we are in auckland"

"This beautifully appointed cottage, next to Barry the owners home, has everything and more, than you could ever need. The view from the cottage is over rural farm land and out to the Shorebird Coast, Firth of Thames and the Coromandel ranges beyond. The moment I arrived from central Auckland I felt myself start to relax. Barry was very friendly and helpful. "Do not stay at this place!! Very misrepresented. Over priced. Smells like sewer or gas leak. Rodents everywhere. Tucked behind another house, hard to access. This place can't be legal for human occupation. Does not appear to be built to code. Beds are horrible, still recovering from severe back pain due to extremely lumpy beds. We had to buy air mattresses, pillows, & extra blankets. Three of our party of four were sick and had to leave a day earlier than our booking. My 74 year old sister could...

"Dampness issues- water ingress, saggy couch, springy mattress, messy outside, dirty and mouldy curtains. Unit was wrongly numbered according to the property description, which meant I left to look for another property. What unit number is it actually, as it has two numbers? I kept getting messages from The Stay... about what I had to do, turn off heaters, wash the dishes etc etc!!! And they had the cheek to take a $300 bond on it! No flat screen TV. Redecorated,but not renovated. No bedside...
