We made reservations five months before we arrived and at that time we requested a room on a lower floor, knowing the topography of the town and that some rooms had many steps. "I stayed here for a weekend because my friends wedding reception was nearby. The place is beautiful. Maria and her husband are the sweetest! I don’t speak Italian but we were able to communicate very well. They make you feel like you are their family. I felt so safe and if I am ever back in Sicily I would stay here again. "Brilliant location for Ragusa Ilba, loved wandering around exploring in the evenings. Checked in at at Hotel Barroca where the staff were wonderfully helpful and breakfast magnificent. "Elio welcomed us with a magnificent spread of local delicacies and a bottle of wine. The villa itself is comfortable, well laid out and well decorated. Lovely pool and many different areas of the garden to enjoy. Of special note is the BBQ area, tucked away down steps to a lower part of the garden. A great place to while away the evening."

"Carmela couldn't have been a better host - she went above and beyond to provide information and additional amenities to cater for our group (eg. providing advice and a microwave for one of our babies with allergies). The units were spotless and the pool was regularly cleaned (Carmela's husband did this so they were there semi-regularly). There was a technical fault with some of the air-con units but Carmela did everything to rectify it. They also left us local vegetables which were delicious!...
