"This is not a big chain hotel with cookie-cutter amenities and sterile facilities. It presents as a family run, quaint, quiet and comfortable place to stay while exploring Normandy. "We stayed two nights a week apart. Hotel is a few minutes walk fro train station and numerous restaurants. Trams station is right outside the door takes you to shopping as well as a shopping center in the same building. "

"It was my second visit to Bayeaux, and the second stay in the well located and charming Hotel Le Lion d'Or. Onsite parking is a bit of a trick, but do-able. Their restaurant is first class, and a stop in the bar is a must. The rooms are clean and quiet, but may be up a couple of flights of stairs. There is no elevator. Willing staff will help with luggage. The rooms are spotless and roomy and often have charming views of the interior courtyard. Staff is phenomenal. "

"We had a rented car, so we appreciated the convenient parking right at the hotel. There is optional secure parking for a moderate fee. We had a "double" room, which was very small with tiny cupboards for clothing and other items. The room was clean, comfortable, well maintained and quiet."
