"Bonsall is a lovely quiet backwater village. Have wanted to spend time here for a while. The Fountain B & B fitted the bill perfectly. Excellent on all counts. The full English breakfast was particularly splendid. Owner really friendly and helpful. Have booked to stay again in a couple of weeks time. Would highly recommend. "

"We had a wonderful 1-night stay at the Family Tree. Our room was clean, cosy and decorated to a very high standard. The beds were very comfy and the hot chocolate provided was a welcome treat after a day of walking. "We had a lovely stay. We were made to feel welcome and our room was lovely. The only issue we had was the noise from neighbouring rooms walking about upstairs and locking/unlocking their door, downside of an older house."

"Just an overnight stay at the canal inn and must say couldn't fault it whatsoever. We had evening meal and breakfast which was excellent. The room 06 was spotless and spacious. We would both highly recommend the canal inn to everyone and look forward to visiting again. "

"Everything was excellent. My only concern was the very poor drive leading from Staden Lane: huge pot holes in a rough surface made this an unfriendly approach, one not appreciated by my car."

Some really nice touches are the delicious chocolate bars in rooms daily and on the last day a post card appears on your table of one of the excellent pencil drawings by the owner which line the walls of the breakfast room. "The hotel is very tastefully decorated and modern the staff very helpful and friendly the food excellent and cost was very reasonable. Unfortunately the room we stayed in was right at the front off the hotel it did have modern double glazed windows but they were useless the traffic outside never stopped until after midnight and restarted around 4 am.I am quite a heavy sleeper but this had to be the worst night’s sleep I’ve experienced at a hotel, the bed looked lovely but we couldn’t turn over...

Overall great hotel

"I’ve stayed here a couple of times in recent weeks. The location is fantastic. The staff are always welcoming and friendly. I’ve had two different rooms - both much larger than your average double room, only difference seemingly between privilege and “standard” rooms being the size of the TV and slightly larger bed. Nice to have both a shower and bath (separate). Very good value for money especially given the access to a proper gym. "
