"This is a lovely friendly pub with excellent staff. The locals were welcoming as well. The beer brewed on the premises was excellent as was the food. I can't fault our stay there. Plenty of parking at the pub now, with a new car park. Handy travel time to Critch, Matlock and the Peak District. Located on the side of a steep hill, so walking anywhere is a good bit of exercise!"

"Stayed here for 2 night's in June and loved it, the place is warm and welcoming, the bed was massive and comfy with plenty of toiletries in the bathroom. "My wife and I stayed for 2 nights at the beginning of December in the Warren room and it was so comfortable! Ziz was the perfect host, what a lovely place the Sheriff Lodge is, close to town and 5 mins from a lovely nearby pub for an evening meal. The breakfast was amazing with so much choice, the homemade granola topped with fruit was the best! Overall a wonderful place to stay and we will return in the summer.
