"We stayed for 3 days and found the location convenient for exploring the Puerto Lopez area. I would note that the beds that are described as "queen size" would be called double beds in the US."

"This was a trip to Puerto Cayo. Puerto Cayo is a very very very sleepy little village west of Jipijapa. You have to want to go there. There has to be a reason. Otherwise, most people head to Frailes or up to Manta. If you want quiet and no people -- not cars in the streets or motorcycles making noise, then Puerto Cayo is for you. It's a beautiful and empty 5 mile long beach. Maybe 20 boats out every morning looking for fish. Whales are littler yards away migrating up or down the coast. It's incredibly peaceful"

"La Hosteria tiene una vista preciosa al mar y está en la cima de una pequeña montaña. Muy cerca de Puerto López.muy buen servicio personalizado, muy buena comida mañanita, el estado de la habitación es bueno. Mi única recomendación es que sustituyan las cobijas por plumones."

"The Manager, Elizabeth, went out of her way to help us non-Spanish-speaking visitors. She translated, made helpful suggestions, and was a delight to talk with. The property is 1/2 block off of the beach in the middle of the beach activity and is lovely. The rooms are clean and just the basics. Bed, side table, refrigerator, clean bathroom. But, that is all you need! The property is still expanding and improving and promises to be even better. hey also have a washer and dryer which was very much needed since we only brought enough clothes in a backpack. I felt very safe in the hotel and walking around Puerto Lopez even though I am a 62 y.o. woman and my only companion was my 26 y.o. Down syndrome daughter. BTW the FOOD is fantastic in Puerto Lopez. We ate in 6 different restaurants on the beach or on the beachfront road. And, of course, a very polite dog will "guard" your table hoping for a "Tip" Please tip generously. "
