"Balsa Surf Camp is like staying with family! It has a wonderful atmosphere, and the location is nice and quiet within a very easy walk to town. For a surfing adventure, everything is at your fingertips and the team are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed the daily yoga, thank you to the wonderful instructor Darcy Lynch. I will visit Montanita again, and I wouldn't think of staying anywhere other than Balsa. "

"We checked out after one sleepless night. Our room was so loud inside it felt like we were in a nightclub, but worse, because it was a mixture of 3-4 nearby clubs and bars music. The hostel itself hadn’t even started any live music yet when we arrived. I don’t know how the Hostel can actually charge money for this room, let alone nearly 100 dollars. "There was no hot water, no real curtains in the room. Being a girl alone this was scary at night. my friend actually broke her foot trying to walk down the steep hill. I am happy to provide proof. "Owners were very friendly and helpful. This is a family friendly hostal with no partying, drinking, loud music. Made it easy to sleep. Rooms are basic, no AC, no hot water but private bathroom in our room. Bedroom could use fresh coat of paint but everything was clean. For the price it was a great value. Without a car it is likely further from the beach than easily accessible. We had our own car so it was a short drive. We would definitely recommend this hostal."
