South Swell Tofino (formerly Blue Heron) Waterfront home amid old growth cedars

South Swell (formerly Blue Heron Guest House) is a 3 bedroom custom built home overlooking Jensen's Bay in Tofino. Exceptional wood detailing, skylights, vaulted ceilings, private hot tub and gas fireplace.

An inlet waterfront retreat situated on 1.5 acres overlooking Jensen's Bay. A 5 minute walk from South Chesterman Beach, Jensen's Bay is a significant flyway for migratory birds.

A seating area at water's edge is a great place enjoy a quiet cup of coffee in the early morning and a perfect vantage point for sighting eagles, herons and other bird species. Occasionally you may spot a bear foraging across the tidal flats.

Towering cedars complement the property. Other wood was milled and transformed into the home's posts and beams. Chesterman Beach is ideally located a 5 minute walk for surfing, beach combing, dog walks or an early evening stroll to take in the iconic West Coast sunsets.

Tofino is 5km away and accessed by road or a well maintained, paved multi-use pathway. The path connects Tofino and the town of Ucluelet and provides ready access to beaches and Pacific Rim National Park.

Just up the road (1184 Pacific Rim Hwy) is a collection of shops for groceries, yoga, surf rentals, great local food (Wildside Grill & Tacofino), coffee/espresso/baked goods (The Tofitian) and chocolate .....Tofino style. The town of Tofino is a short drive (5 km) so a car would be ideal. In summer, a free (and surfboard friendly!) shuttle service runs between Tofino and Cox Bay. You can hop on and off at several points along the route, including 2 stops close by.

This was the third or fourth time we've come to stay at Blue Heron/South Swell and we had a great time. The home is so comfortable and nice, and we love the new outdoor shower! This is the best appointed kitchen I've ever had while renting, and loved spending cool rainy evenings in the hot tub. Hopefully we'll be back soon!

Relaxing Getaway
My family and I had a very peaceful stay at the Blue Heron house this May long weekend. The house was very spacious, clean, and had all the amenities we needed. Our host Kelly responded quickly to messages and was very accommodating, she even let us know that the cleaning crew was finished early, so we could check in a little early. The hot tub was great, but I think the outdoor shower was one of favorite perks. We would definitely stay again and recommend to friends.

I can’t say enough good things about this property! We will definitely try and come back. Was equipped with everything we needed. Very quiet, close to the beach, and a short drive to town. The hot tub was a huge bonus - lots of hot tub towels supplied! Beds were comfy, and the neighbourhood was quiet and relaxing. Communications with owners was excellent. Very much enjoyed out stay!

Another excellent stay
This is our second time we have stayed here and we enjoyed ourselves just as much as the first time. Wonderful house in a great location
We stayed 4 night to explore Vancouver Island. Wonderful house, well stocked kitchen, everything clean and in good condition, quiet, beautiful hot tub. Views to a tidal bay. 5 min walk to lovely beach. We enjoyed kayaking and hiking and restaurants in Tofino while we were here.
