"Served its purpose for a one night stop over, basic and a bit tired, stains on sofa and carpet, only one double sofa which sank when you sat on it so the third person had to sit on a hard dining chair. Basic utensils, no wine glasses but did have a gravy boat 😁 comfortable beds, met by the pleasant host, all in all fine "

"We absolutely loved our break away and will definitely be visiting again The hosts had thought of everything. A lovely welcome package including a bottle of wine and chocolate as well as milk and bread. Very thoughtful. The host greeted us when we arrived and was very friendly. Our 15month old had just learnt to walk and loved the spacious lodge to run around in. He also loved being able to see the cows from the room he slept in! Thank you so much "

"We were made very welcome by the owner Graham, everything supplied in the welcome pack, even dishwasher and washing tablets. Beautiful clean lodge with amazing views and very private. Hot tub is gorgeous after a long day of walking. Plenty of local walks but poorly sign posted through fields if you didn’t want to walk on the lanes or busy roads. Would probably drive to a location and walk rather than trek from lodge when we return which we are already planning for winter."

"Very spacious and clean. Nicely decored and homely. Everything you need is there and the host is very good and responsive to queries. The lodge is situated on a nice quiet camp site and has its own single carspace right outside. Basic toiletries (soap and showergel) were provided as were towels and bedding. tea, coffee and sugar were also there and the host provided a small pint of milk and a small pack of biscuits on arrival. "A fantastic find for our needs. The owner was exceptionally helpful. Central to the city. Great value for money. We had a great room. However a few things to make it better : 1- the oven/microwave didn’t work even after trying a few times. It needs a master in engineering to make it work. Maybe stick with 2 separate items. 2- Not ideal for light sleepers. Can sadly hear a lot through the walls. 3- although the apartment was clean. I am not too sure the hoover was done. "We loved the house for it's space and location. It's really well equipped with very comfortable beds. Plenty of room for three families with teenagers. The games room and hot tub were thoroughly enjoyed! Huge kitchen to socialise and cook easily in. Cosy lounge for chilling out. Lovely to have dog bed, bowls, treats etc provided. We enjoyed being able to stroll around Matlock. It was perfect, and we hope to return! "
