"Stayed in one of the family rooms in the separate building - a bunk bed downstairs and queen upstairs with en-suite. Room was clean, well-appointed and worked well to get the kids to sleep allowing adults to relax upstairs. Room service menu and quality of food were excellent. Spa and internal and external pool were great, but strict kids hours in the internal pool meant we actually had to swim/play in sub zero temperatures - which was not ideal and quite rude. "Came down to Wimborne for a family funeral - we had the wake in the hotel. Everyone was looked after extremely well - all the staff were great. We stopped in the hotel overnight - room was clean, bright and quiet. Breakfast was fantastic with plenty to eat"

"Looks great from outside, and very welcoming from the start. The rooms are clean and spacious with great quirky decor and a very comfortable bed. We used the bar and restaurant during our stay and found the food very good and the service excellent. Staff were friendly, and the breakfast was tasty with lots of choice. We would definitely stay again."

"Easy check in. We had parked elsewhere as underground carpark appeared closed but apparently you have to get a code from reception to use their carpark. Breakfast very good indeed. Lady serving breakfast is excellent at her job. Would stay again. Room 5 was quiet, could do with a lick of paint but very clean. "

Winter stay in Dorset

"On traditionally bleak winters day in south west Dorset this hotel was warm and welcoming, spacious and well presented rooms. Breakfast was well cooked and served promptly. A strong 9/10 because although you should never judge a book by the cover, this hotel lets it self down with it's exterior presentation"
