"The staff were extremely accommodating and friendly. Extras included were a wine & cheese platter each afternoon and homemade cookies to finish the day. Both were unexpected delights! And breakfasts were generous AND delicious. The room was comfy cozy and a great place to pause and enjoy. We've stayed in B&Bs in Newport several times over the years and found the Hydrangea House (HH) to be an A experience. Thank you to Kim and her team at HH. "

"Sheets weren't clean. Room Door locks were broken and bashed into. Not enough parking due to the bar out back that caused noise and had drunks banging on peoples doors in the hotel. Electric issues. Had lamps with no plugs to power the lights. Low wifi, so tvs signals were lost every 2 minutes. If you have the money, stay elsewhere and pay extra to do so."

"We were a bit underwhelmed by the property. It was a bit more run down then we expected. Not sure what the issue was but there was police presence when we got there, which was concerning. And not that it was the property’s fault but some of the guests were a bit noisy late at night. It was fine for one night and served it’s purpose, we were only there to sleep."

"Nice view of the river. I arrived at night and was a little disappointed I could not really see the river however the river is just not lit up very well in this area. In the morning it was beautiful view of the river. We enjoyed a cup of coffee on the balcony looking over the courtyard at the river. Would stay again if ever in the area again."

"Solo weekend retreat at this idyllic 8-acre Christmas tree farm was quiet and a nice re-set / nod to simpler times. Visited in January and it snowed while I was touring the farm! Perfect set-up for one person or a couple. Would actually move in permanently - it was that lovely! Location is right near four corners/groundswell, so you are equal parts secluded and connected to local shops/cafes. There were even goats, one of which I nicknamed Tom Brady. "It was a GREAT location, one of only two hotels on Ocean Drive. the grounds were amazing. The building is falling apart a little, there is deferred maintenance, but the room was clean, the staff was Wonderful. we had a view of the ocean, the hot tub was hot, the coffee and breakfast muffins were great. It is what it is and there is SO much to see in Newport that you shouldnt be spending much time in the room. "

"Our stay in Newport was very comfortable in the three bedroom, two bath space. The kitchen and living room were just as pictured and in great shape. Parking across the street was a great bonus. The third bedroom (downstairs) was very spacious, but a bit drafty since it opened to an unheated storage area and outside. The second bath shower was tiny for my 6'3" frame. Great restaurants, and coffee shops close by. Chris is a wonderful host."
